兼任国家农作物品种审定委员会委员、《大豆科学》编辑委员会委员等职。先后承担国家863计划、公益性农业行业科研专项和国家973计划等项目。现为国家大豆现代产业技术体系岗位科学家,主持国家重点研发计划“南方大豆优质高产广适新品种培育”项目,主持国家自然科学基金课题“菜用大豆籽粒硬度相关位点关联分析与功能验证”和其他省部级项目。主持或合作完成研究成果10余项。主持或合作育成优质高产抗病虫新品种苏鲜豆21号等大豆新品种。在国内外学术期刊发表论文100多篇。

大豆遗传育种;大豆分子遗传。研究鲜食大豆主要品质性状的遗传特点,解析品质性状形成的遗传基础,发掘决定品质性状的功能基因,创制突破性种质和优质品种(系);研究大豆疫霉根腐病抗性的遗传规律,进行抗性基因定位,通过比较基因组学等方法克隆控制抗性候选基因,研究关键基因功能,创造突破性种质和抗病新品种(系)。
