Dr Gao is a member of the China Zhi Gong Party, a high-level talent introduced by Nanjing Agricultural University and an associate professor (master's supervisor) at the College of Engineering. He is also an expert reviewer for academic degrees by the Ministry of Education, and before that, he was a chemical engineering Ph.D. and postdoctoral researcher at the University of Queensland (UQ) in Australia. His main research directions include: the preparation and application of advanced carbon materials; the development of biomass nanomaterials; adsorption and separation; and the comprehensive utilization of solid waste, etc. Teaches the undergraduate course "Fuel Cells and Fuel Cell Vehicles," hosts the Jiangsu Provincial Natural Science Foundation (Youth Project), and is selected for the Jiangsu Province Double Creation Talents Program (2023 Double Creation Doctor - World Famous University Category). He has published more than 20 SCI papers in journals such as Carbon, Renewable and Sustainable Energy Reviews, Fuel Processing Technology, Journal of Environmental Chemical Engineering, and Journal of Environmental Management, with more than 400 citations, among which the first author or corresponding author papers have an accumulated impact factor of more than 50.
