南京农业大学“钟山学者”特聘教授。目前受聘为国务院学位委员会植物保护学科评议组成员、国家农业转基因生物安全委员会委员、农业农村部植物保护专家指导组成员、全国农业有害生物抗药性风险评估与对策专家组成员。目前担任Pest Management Science主编,Insect Biochemistr and Molecular Biology, Insect Science和Journal of Integrative Agriculture编委。

长期从事昆虫分子毒理和农业害虫抗药性研究,主持和承担国家自然科学基金、转基因生物品种培育重大科研专项、国家重点研发计划、行业科技专项等课题30多项。在Nature Biotechnology, PNAS, Nature Communications, PLoS Pathogens, PLoS Genetics, Molecular Ecology, Insect Biochemistry and Molecular Biology, Applied and Environmental Microbiology, Pest Management Science, Pesticide Biochemistry and Physiology等重要国际学术刊物发表SCI论文130余篇。       

获教育部科技进步奖二等奖1项(1999,第1完成人)、教育部自然科学奖二等奖1项(2006,第2完成人)、国家科学技术进步奖二等奖1项(2010,第3完成人)。先后获得教育部首届高校青年教师奖(1999)、江苏省第六届青年科技奖(2000)、江苏省"333高层次人才培养工程"首批中青年科技领军人才(2007)、“新世纪百千万人才工程”国家级人选(2009)、全国农业科研杰出人才(2015)。
