环境微生物学、微生物生理学、合成生物学
邱吉国，博士，副教授，南京农业大学生命科学学院微生物学系，硕士研究生导师。2014年获浙江大学环境科学博士学位，2019-2020年于美国华盛顿大学(西雅图)微生物系访学。从事含氮有毒环境污染物的微生物降解机制以及微生物驱动的氮循环机制研究，包括降解菌株的筛选、降解中间产物鉴定和代谢途径以及降解基因功能鉴定和代谢调控等。以第一或通讯作者在 Curr Opin Microbiol、Nucleic Acids Res、Environ Microbiol、J Bacteriol、Appl Environ Microbiol（10篇）、Int Biodeterior Biodegrad、Appl Microbiol Biotechnol、Microorganisms、Int J Syst Evol Microbiol、Arch Microbiol、FEMS Microbiol Lett、Curr Microbiol、Lett Appl Microbiol、J Hazard Mater、J Clean Prod 和 Environ Res 等期刊发表SCI论文50余篇。主持国家自然科学基金面上项目4项，青年基金1项。担任mLife青年编委，Editorial board member of Appl Environ Microbiol。
Research interests:
I have broad education background and interests in Microbiology, Environmental Chemistry, and Biotechnology. >100 research publications. H-index=21. My recent research topics are :
(1) new nitrogen metabolic mechanisms by bacteria.
Dirammox (direct ammonia oxidation to N2) was a newly described heterotrophic ammonia oxidation process in 2021 found by Chinese scientists, which are mediated by dnf genes. The ammonia was oxidized to N2 via NH2OH directly. Studies on its new biochemical, physiological, and ecological roles and significance are undergoing.
(2) microbiological biodegradation and bioremediation of toxic compounds and interactions with environment.
Isolate and characterize novel degrading strains; determine the degrading pathways of compounds; clone novel degradation genes or enzymes; decipher novel transcrriptional regulatory mechanisms; construct recombinant for biocatalysis, bioremediation and synthetic biology. Recent studies mainly focus on pyridine-derivatives, including nicotine, cotinine, picolinic acid and dipicolinic acid.
