Dr. Shi's research focuses on intelligent environmental control in livestock and poultry production, smart evaluation methods and model development for poultry behavior and welfare, and waste valorization. He has led six research projects, including the National Natural Science Foundation of China Young Scientists Fund, the Beijing Postdoctoral Science Foundation, Open Philanthropy, and the USDA-AFRI program. As first author, he has published six SCI papers in leading journals in the field, including Poultry Science and Applied Animal Behaviour Science, as well as two EI-indexed papers in the Transactions of the Chinese Society of Agricultural Engineering. His research achievements received the First Prize for Scientific and Technological Achievements from Beijing Sunlon Food Group in 2021 and the Third Prize of the Hebei Provincial Science and Technology Progress Award in 2023.
