主要致力于严重危害我国重要农作物的分节段负链RNA病毒研究，先后主持国家自然科学面上项目和青年基金、江苏省自然科学青年基金、中国博士后基金面上项目等课题8项。率先创建了植物分节段负链RNA病毒反向遗传学体系，基于此基础，围绕该类病毒致病成灾机制和病毒反向遗传学体系开发应用等重要科学技术问题开展了持续研究，取得了具有科学原创性和应用价值的研究成果。相关研究成果以第一作者在PNAS、JPIB、Journal of Virology (2篇)、Virology和《科学通报》等国内外著名期刊发表论文6篇，同时参与Nature、Nature Communication、PNAS、PLoS Pathogens等论文的发表21篇。入选人社部“博新计划”（2021）和江苏省百篇优博论文(2021)。
